Important Administrative Things to do This Month for School Districts

(This “to do list” is intended to provide a synopsis of a few of the tasks normally started or performed during this month.  The list is obviously not exhaustive in nature and is designed only as a “reminder” to be supplemented by each Personnel/Human Resources Department’s specific duties.)


  • Monitor and assist with certificated employee observations and evaluations
  • Conduct substitute employee inservice training for those employees hired since September orientation
  • Monitor substitute teacher performance/evaluation
  • Schedule and conduct inservice training and staff development
  • Counsel with administrators as needed regarding probationary certificated employees classroom observation schedule, performance assessment and preparation of employee evaluations
  • Arrange for support personnel to assist certificated employees to meet district performance standards and state credentialing requirements
  • Review probationary classified evaluations

  • Arrange employee counseling; take disciplinary action as needed
  • Notify payroll department of employment status changes
  • Process resignations; make vacancy announcements
  • Review and distribute rules, policies and procedures guidelines as needed
  • Develop and conduct employee recognition program
