Berta A. Blen is an Associate with the Erickson Law Firm A.P.C. Ms. Blen earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law – Newark, New Jersey, in 1992. Ms. Blen was a Notes and Comments Editor of the Rutgers Law Review. Her Note, To Hear or Not to Hear: A Legal Analysis of Subliminal Technology in the Arts, was published in 1992. Ms. Blen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Southern California.

Ms. Blen’s practice involves advising and litigating on behalf of community college districts, school districts, charter schools and district-affiliated research foundation clients on education law, employer-employee relations, employee disciplinary matters and compliance with state and federal law.

Ms. Blen has extensive experience in all phases of litigation, appeals, mediation and arbitration. Ms. Blen has been lead counsel in numerous jury and bench trials, arbitrations, administrative hearings, mediations, negotiations and settlement conferences. Ms. Blen has successfully represented clients before Federal District Courts, California Superior and Municipal Courts, California Court of Appeals, various Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards, United States Department of Labor, California Public Utilities Commission, Nevada Department of Business & Industry, Industrial Relations Division, and various Departments of Transportation.

Ms. Blen is a member of the State Bar of California.

Ms. Blen is an avid jewelry maker and gardener.
