Leopoldo (Leo) Santiago is an associate with the Erickson Law Firm A.P.C. Mr. Santiago earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. He graduated in 2012 with honors and as a member of law review. Mr. Santiago also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from University of San Diego and a California CLAD teaching credential.

Mr. Santiago’s practice involves advising community college districts, school districts, charter schools, and district-affiliated research foundation clients on education law, employer-employee relations, employee disciplinary matters, and compliance with state and federal laws.

Prior to joining the Erickson Law Firm, Mr. Santiago represented clients in family law, security clearance and personal injury matters. Mr. Santiago has represented clients in every phase of the litigation process including mediation, trial, and has participated in administrative hearings before the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA). To compliment his legal background, Mr. Santiago has nineteen years of experience teaching social science at the high school level. During his years as a public educator, Mr. Santiago served in various capacities including department chair, union representative, and has been a team member in numerous IEP and 504 meetings for students with disabilities. Mr. Santiago has been a contributing member of various accreditation committees through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and now brings his experience and background to bear on behalf of our clients. Mr. Santiago is also an avid angler, surfer, and competitive sailor.

Mr. Santiago is a member of the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association.
